During my three days of news watching I discovered that KSL 5 Utah covers a lot of stories. It seemed like as soon as I started to analyze one story the next one would have already started. This didn't leave much time to credit any sources and that's what they missed the most points on. While attempting to watch the 30 minute broadcast I was able to fulfill my 10 story max usually within 15 minutes. Many stories were too short to even get good and full information to the viewer. The overall score was also brought down a lot by sports and weather stories. The news channel usually reported on around the same amount of core and peripheral stories. Many of the peripheral stories were just feel-good stories about locals and the the community. I thought this was interesting because when I watch the news with my mom these are always the stories she likes and pays the most attention too.
